Indy Ultimate

I just ran this race earlier today and it was fantastic.

The Indy Ultimate is a 6 mile run through downtown Indianapolis. The race goes through all of the sporting venues in Indianapolis. At each location, you were able to do a sporting task. I was able to kick soccer balls at Carroll Stadium and kick field goals at Lucas Oil Stadium. They had basketball goals outside of Bankers Life Fieldhouse and I shot a free throw there.

I really enjoyed this race and I’m looking forward to doing it next year.

Shoe Testing

For about 10 months now, I’ve been a weartester for New Balance.

It’s been a really cool experience and I cannot thank New Balance enough for the opportunity.  It is a pretty simple process to become a weartester.  All you have to do is fill out the registration for on:  After that if they select you, you’ll receive a pair of shoes to try out for a month.  After a month, you send the shoes back and fill out a review of the shoes.

So far, I’ve done 2 tests for them.

The first test was on a pair of cross trainers – MX577v4.

These shoes were really great for HIT classes, plyometric exercise, light jogging, and light weight lifting.

The second test was on a pair of shoes for causal use.  They were the UK 577.

I really liked these shoes and color way and I might break down and get a pair when they release.

I hope that I can do more weartests for them.  I’ve applied for other brands, but they have not selected me to do any tests.

Goals for 2016

I’m keeping my goals short and sweet for 2016:

  • Eat cleaner
  • Lower body fat percentage
  • Improve my core strength/stability

I really want to focus on getting back in shape and have a lower body fat percentage.  After I get back in shape, I’ll decide what my next adventure in fitness/sports is.

It’s time for a reboot

I haven’t been doing much with this blog in the last year and a half. There are a few reasons for this:

  1. I’ve had a handful of injuries that have prevented me from working out hard. Since I haven’t been hitting the gym as hard as I liked to, I haven’t been blogging about being at the gym.
  2. I’ve also had other things that have gotten in my way of working out and blogging on here.

Unfortunately, I’m out of shape to my standards. My plan is to get back in shape and use this blog as a way to track/monitor my progress. I’ll also share my reviews and opinions on other fitness related products.
